Shanghai, Suzhou & Hangzhou: Cities in Motion

Shanghai · Suzhou · Hangzhou6 daysEst. from $1,060

The lower Yangtze is often sold as old water towns beside futuristic skylines, but the more interesting story is how craft, commerce, manufacturing and daily life overlap. This compact journey connects heritage streets and gardens with a working automated factory, a digital district and the tea landscape above West Lake.

Day 1

Shanghai across three eras

Begin among the lanes and adaptive reuse of Tianzifang and Xintiandi, then move into Yu Garden and the City God Temple quarter. After dark, walk the Bund and board a Huangpu River cruise to compare the historic waterfront with Pudong’s skyline.

Day 2

Neighborhood detail and vertical Shanghai

Walk Yuyuan Road, Anfu Road, Wukang Road and Wuyuan Road as one connected neighborhood route rather than four isolated check-ins. Continue to Jing’an Temple, Lujiazui and the Shanghai Tower observation level, then use the evening to explore Nanjing East Road at your own pace.

Day 3

A full day at Shanghai Disneyland

Use the included round-trip transfer for a self-guided day at Shanghai Disneyland, allowing the group to choose its own rides, shows and meal rhythm. The guide does not enter the park, and the return pickup is confirmed in advance around the final parade or fireworks schedule.

Day 4

Suzhou gardens, canals and evening streets

Compare the water-centered composition of the Humble Administrator’s Garden with the denser rockeries of Lion Grove Garden. Continue through Guanqian Street, Pingjiang Road and Shantang Street, then leave the evening open for independent canal-side exploration.

Day 5

Hangzhou manufacturing and digital life

Visit Geely’s automated assembly plant in Hangzhou, subject to factory approval and its operating calendar, for a guided look at contemporary vehicle production. Continue to Wensan Digital Street and finish at Wulin Night Market, connecting formal innovation with the city’s everyday retail and food culture.

Day 6

Bamboo, tea and West Lake

Walk beneath the tall bamboo of Yunqi before joining a seasonal tea experience at Meijiawu, where the focus is cultivation, hand processing and tasting rather than a sales stop. Finish with a West Lake boat ride and leave the evening free to continue around the lake independently.
